Hero 8 External Power and Waterproof

Hi all,

Can I have a permanent external power supply fitted to a Hero8 Black and keep the camera waterproof. My idea is having it mounted on my motorbike, for a proposed long tour, with a permanent external power supply wired into my bike's electrics whilst the camera is exposed to the elements (rain).

You would most likely have to figure out a way to keep the water out. I have seen videos on YouTube where people modify dive cases to accept power or a mic and still water resistant.
