Hi guys,
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice here.

I have a 3+ Silver that has been working fine up until a few weeks ago. I have the camera fitted to my motorbike helmet to capture evidence (if needed) as well as filming scenes as I travel.

What;'s happening is that I put a fully charged battery in the camera but when I press start, it only runs for about 20 seconds and then stops. The camera won't do anything at this point except turn off. When I try and turn on again, the battery indicator is showing there is no charge even though this is not the case.

I have the latest firmware so this is not an issue.

DO batteries have a shelf life before they just stop working after very limited use even though they're on full charge?

Is there a factory reset I can try? I've looked but can't find anything related to such a thing.

TIA

I had a similar problem with my 4 Black, here is a copy of the reply I had from customer support :-

Thank you for reaching us regarding this issue, I'll try to help you identify and eventually correct this issue,

It can be something in fact related to the battery, which might need a reset, in this case I would like to ask that you perform the following procedure in order to reset the battery, and also to isolate whether it can be an issue with the camera, or the battery.

(Very important: All tests concerning battery-life should be made at an average room temperature (around 20ºC), as the lower the temperature, the shorter the battery life will be).
Fully discharge the battery by leaving the camera recording until it shuts down after depleting the battery, then fully recharge it for around 4h and discharge it again. (repeat this procedure at least 3 times).

After this process the battery should hold out for close to the longest duration possible, and should also eliminate any other errors that might occur in regard to the battery life.

Please, don't hesitate to reach us should any additional questions arise.
