It enables the external adapter, the touch screen is now usable as a touch screen.. But the audio pops and clicks are still there when using the internal audio. My guess is this is a hardware issue, and unfixable.. you will have to wait to the Hero 10 for usable internal audio.
Yes I was glad to see support for the external mic adapter. I have one and it's been useless with the 9 until now. Opens up more possibility's for third party cases.
