Hello.
In the GPUserForum evilwombat shared a new way to use gopro cameras, via autoexec.ash files and commands retrieved from the fw strings. I was interested and I continued the research.
Now I manage nearly to 15 projects in github.
One of the best ones is MegaLapse, the hack to extend the lapse in timelapse (2 mins to 45 mins)
And Video Effects, the hack to apply effects to a video, no post processing needed.
LINKS:
-GitHub repo: http://github.com/KonradIT/autoexechack
-Webpage (with Hacking API): Chernowii
-gopro open-source page with shared libs: http://gopro.com/support/open-source
If you don't want the hack anymore, just delete it of the SD ***THE HACKS ARE NOT PERMANENT***
Here you can post your hacks, discuss...
If you want a custom hack, post your request here, before send me a PM or mail.
So, happy hacking!
****ADVICE****
ALL HACKS HERE USE THEM AT YOUR RISK!! IT CAN BREAK YOUR CAMERA!!
IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!

Wow that is realy wonderfull. Hacking my GoPro is what I was looking for!!

I'm going to try it anyway, but what are the chances of bricking my GP?
I can always turn GP off and change my SD and everything is back to normal, right?

I have been experimenting with commands more than one year and my gopro is still alive.

This Feature is soo cool, you can script a lot :)

I made a Demo with the GoPro Effects with taking a Picture in every effect and then Reboot.

Try it out yourself:
Copy the autoexec.ash to your GoPro SD-Card and turn GoPro on. [AT YOUR OWN RISK, but code is tested]

Next I'm going to try SuperView mode in my GoPro Hero 3 BE :)

I did already a hack for superview. It works perfect on hero3 black (not have a hero3+silver)
You should definitively check the firmware archives (this forum is called ------ and fw studies), there you can find a lot of more commands.
Get all the firmwares here: https://github.com/KonradIT/autoexechack/tree/GoPro/GoProUpdateFiles
Get my superview hack to help you: https://github.com/KonradIT/autoexechack/tree/GoPro/SuperViewHERO3Black
I made a section in the GitHub for this awesome forum (including your hack, maui): https://github.com/KonradIT/autoexechack/tree/GoPro/GoProFanaticsHacks

I know, looked all over your Git and Website :) Best site for Autoexec ;)

But I want a script to compare "normal" wide vs SuperView. And so far it doesn't work right.
Camera is recording, it is some how wrapped, but not 4:3 to 16:9
See Pictures

What settings did you use to record?
