    Time-lapse video mode. 2 second interval. ISO 100 Min/Max. 5500 White Balance. Not much, if any difference than those shot with my H8. However, the H9's ability to start/stop automatically is a big deal to me.

    I've had my 9 for a couple of weeks now. I do quite a few time-lapse captures. For me the big gain is the ability to pre-schedule the start time and the duration of the capture. So far it has worked flawlessly. Nothing worth posting. But it's a big deal for me for my time-lapse sessions. Bill

    Tried it on my Hero 8 after the firmware update. Using the GoPro Plus option. Seemed to work fine. Although the latency seemed to be about 4 seconds. With camera and cellphone on the same high speed WIFI network. Some screenshots of the setup and results. (They are in reverse order.)

    Hero 9 yeah talk is what is out there so why not add to this rumor

    I've read that the H9 beta testers have to return their cameras by the end of this month. So I assume that it will be released by November. More than likely I'll get one. Especially if GoPro again offers the trade-in program.

    Just tried a quick test. I was about 15 feet away, with two closed wooden doors between the H8 and myself. Was able to turn on and off and start/stop recording using the app with no problem. So I guess your situation would work. Bill

    I am not aware of an alternative remote other than those offered by GoPro. However, I am able to remotely turn on/off my Hero 8 and control recording using the GoPro app on my Android smartphone. Bill
