Can't get videos off the Gopro
Hello. New user here.
I bought my Gopro a couple weeks ago to use on vacation last week. Made a couple test videos and made sure I could pull them down to my laptop. Everything worked OK.
I took videos while I was there and now can't get them off the darn card. Tried taking them right from the camera and using a card reader. Also tried my mac and a pc. No dice. It keeps telling me the card isn't formatted, but I can play back the videos using the lcd touch screen.
I'm out of ideas at this point and it would suck to lose all the stuff I shot on vacation. Can anyone think of something I can do to remedy this? Thanks!

I can't think of what would be the problem but I'll try to help.
Have you tried putting the micro sd card into a different, regular sized, sd card holder? A while ago I had a broken pin in my card reader that messed up all the sd cards that I put into it and made them unreadable. I wonder if the sd card case you are using to hold the micro sd card has some problems.
Have you tried a different sd card to see if you can transfer videos to your computer?

On a Mac, you can go to disk utility and repair the volume. All the files should be intact.

Yeah sounds like the card needs a scan and repair.

I tried to do a repair, but it is grayed out so I can't select it.
I got a new card today, popped it in the gopro, recorded some video and transferred it to my laptop with no issues. This is frustrating as hell.

The File allocation table is likely corrupt or the card is bad. Only way to tell is format.

Did you format the SD card when you first got it (before using it) via the GoPro's "Delete All" option?
As far as I know it's recommended to always format the cards before first time use incase they come incorrectly formatted.

Same Problem with my new Black Edition
Very upsetting to have this happen - these files cannot be replaced. Has anyone any ideas for retrieving these files in some way? Formatting the card is NOT an option (as was suggested by someone).
