Hero 2 : Firmware Update fails....
:cursing: Bought a new Hero 2, with WiFi Combo Kit and LCD bacpac... The Hero 2 works fine. The LCD works fine. GoPro says I need to do a firmware update before using the WiFi... OK. Downloaded their latest CineForm program and attached the GoPro unit without any accessories attached as instructed. I follow the steps and the firmware appears to download , but seems to fail during install... although it could be during download. Very frustrating. GoPro tech help is so slow in getting back to me on this. Lost three days of the event I am here to film... GoPro is here too, but only their marketing team.... their assistance was to shrug, say they were very sorry, and hand me a free tee-shirt... 3 sizes too small for me. Ugh! Can anyone here give a clue? Thanks in advance!
Have tried it on multiple PCs.
Thanks all. When I couldn't get it to work on the computer (winXP) in the office, I went and tried the whole process over at home ( WinXP).... so diff copy of Cineform, etc... I am getting the same results. Thanks again as we venture forward with this.
WiFi BacPac is now registered, updated, configured, and WORKS! :)
The ONLY problem I ran into here was me being in too much of a rush. Once I let Windows find, identify, and load the correct USB drivers for the WiFi BacPac, it went pretty smooth. My advice here is: Do NOT get in such a hurry that you get stupid and cancel the MS Windows that pop up wanting to recognize and load soem USB drivers... relax and let it do it's thing. This is REQUIRED. ;)
