Can I mount Gopro camera on DJI's phantom 2 vision by myself?
I saw them using phantom 2 vision to film amazing video, do them use Gopro camera or can I mount Gopro camera by myself? I want to buy one for a try, and I like to DIY. Review (with video!): DJI Phantom 2 Vision quadcopter

The Phantom Vision is really built from the ground up to use the DJI camera. I don't believe I've seen anyone remove it and modify the gimbal mechanism to work with the GoPro. You could be the first. As you may know there are many features in the Vision that are a step up from the version 1 Phantom, not the least of which is longer flight time with a larger and costlier battery.
You may wish to wait for the Phantom 2 which is rumored to be a more Pro version of the Phantom and rumored to be designed for a GoPro. Although no firm date has been given for the release of the 2 it is rumored to have many of the Vision features.
If you want to save a few bucks, the version 1 Phantom has dropped in price and you may see more used ones available as folks upgrade to the Vision.

While the integration of the GoPro Hero3 and the current version of the GoPro cell phone application offers many features, the Vision and the DJI cell phone application offers a different, and perhaps more extensive, set of functions. I would think using a Vision and a GoPro camera you would lose those features.
Also buying a Vision and discarding the camera seems like expending too much money for something you aren't going to use. Granted the Vision may have a gimbal controller and gimbal power you would need when mounting a gimbal designed for the GoPro.

However you must remember DJI recommends NOT using the wi-fi of the GoPro camera when mounted on certain Phantoms as it may interfere with the operation of some versions of the Phantom. In addition, there is a distance limitation to the GoPro wi-fi.
I have no experience with the DJI phone application used to control the Vision camera. Although, it too looks easy to use. There are many YouTube videos demonstrating most of the DJI products, as there are for GoPro products too.

I am guessing you mean use another 5.8 or 36? wiFi is in the 2.4ghz band so using that could interfere for video just as the GoPro wifi would. So since the GoPro app is convinent and allows control of the camera functions I would assume keep Wifi for use with that and move to another band for aircraft control. That was my question...can the Phantom be easily modified for use with another brand RC system and is it worth it? That would, start getting really expensive.
