How long does the GoPro Battery Truly last at 1080 and 720 with 30 & 60 fps
Got some questions for my trip tommorrow to the good old Jersey Shore. I plan on doing a 5x speed thing and filming it straight instead of time lapse mode. My concern is that the total trip is about 2 hours and I want to capture the AC Express plus the ocean views and entrance into the town without the battery going dead upon arrival and in high detail, also I am running a 32Gb Sandisk Card Class 10 so storage shouldn't be a problem
-Does anyone truly know how long does the GoPro Hero 2 battery will last?(I got the camera 2-3 weeks ago).
-WIll turning off the sound save battery life?
-Also Should I film the drive down the beach at 1080 or720 (@30 or 60) I read that 720x60 is the same storage wise and battery? But will 720 at 30 give me little extra battery life?
Thanks all and I hope to bring back some great videos from the beach, I am bringing my homeade GoPro Pole to have fun in the water with and will take it on some rides and such and maybe even crabbing.

The lower the quality the more battery life you will get.
On 720/60fps I've gotten about 2 hours, 1080p would be about the same and 720/30fps should be slightly longer. This is on a Hero1 btw.
Keep in mind you can always pack an extra battery

I noticed that you wanted to record while driving. If you have the skeleton housing and a USB charger for your car, you can plug the camera into external power and it will record until your card fills up.
32Gb card @ 1080p / 30 fps - you should get roughly 4 hrs.
I have used my GoPro HD HERO & HD HERO2 plugged into external power for timelapse photography lasting, un-interrupted for up to 3 days.

I've found that the battery lasts about 2.5-3 hours with my HD Hero 2..you can get a bit more if you turn it off during the "down times" but seeing that you want to do a time lapse during a drive, you won't be able to do that.
Either get another battery or do the skeleton case + charger like earthwindnwater mentioned.GoProFanatics.com Admin
